This enacted ordinance amends Philadelphia’s hospital assessment rules by clarifying which general acute care and high-volume Medicaid hospitals are covered, setting assessment rates and effective dates, and changing payment deadlines. It also updates the rules to match state law and allows assessment revenues to support medical assistance payments, administrative and collection costs, and some public health clinic costs.

Amending Chapter 19-3500 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "General Acute Care Hospital Assessment," by clarifying its applicability to High Volume Medicaid Hospitals, by revising due dates, by making changes to conform to amendments to State law, and making technical changes, all under certain terms and conditions.
