READ AND PASSED
This enacted measure amended Philadelphia’s business income and receipts tax to provide tax credits to businesses that hired qualifying veterans of the armed forces between July 1, 2012, and June 30, 2014. Eligible businesses could receive credits of up to $2,000 per qualifying full-time employee or $1,000 per qualifying part-time employee for up to 24 months, subject to application, certification, and other limits.
Amending Chapter 19-2600 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Business Income And Receipts Taxes," by providing for a tax credit for employment of veterans of the armed forces, under certain terms and conditions.
