The enacted bill amends Philadelphia’s zoning rules for development in flood-prone areas and repeals the former chapter on development in defined flood plains. It updates how floodways and flood elevations are identified, sets requirements for altering or relocating waterways, and requires applicants to obtain other required government permits before receiving construction permits in special flood hazard areas.
Amending Title 14 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Zoning and Planning," by making, revising, and consolidating certain regulations regarding flood protection, and by further repealing Chapter 10-1100A of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Development in Defined Flood Plain Areas"; all under certain terms and conditions.
