The enacted bill changes Philadelphia’s Fire Code rules for identifying new and existing buildings. It requires visible, legible address numbers, building numbers, or other approved identification from the street or road, generally using reflective markings with specific size and contrast standards; certain compliant non-reflective markings installed before July 1, 2013, may remain.

Amending Title 4 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "The Philadelphia Building Construction and Occupancy Code," by amending Subcode "F" ("The Philadelphia Fire Code"), by modifying a subsection providing for the types of premises identification required on new and existing buildings, under certain terms and conditions.
