The enacted ordinance amended Philadelphia’s Health Code, Contracts and Procurement Code, and Officers and Employees Code to replace references to “mental retardation” with “intellectual disability.” The changes apply to descriptions of health-center services and lead-paint impacts, the name of a city behavioral health office, and the name and compensation rules of a city board.

Amending Title 6 (Health Code), Title 17 (Contracts and Procurement), and Title 20 (Officers and Employees) all of The Philadelphia Code, by replacing references to "mental retardation" with references to "intellectual disability;" all under certain terms and conditions.
