This enacted ordinance expands Philadelphia’s energy and water use benchmarking and reporting requirement to any building with at least 50,000 square feet of indoor space, unless the Office of Sustainability exempts it by regulation. It took effect July 1, 2015, and applies to the covered buildings under the city’s requirements.

Amending Section 9-3402 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Benchmarking Energy and Water Use", to expand the buildings for which the benchmarking and reporting of energy and water usage data is required, all under certain terms and conditions.
