The enacted ordinance amended Philadelphia’s refuse and littering rules to require businesses that sell prepared or prepackaged food for takeout or consumption off the premises to provide a waste bin and a separate recycling bin within 10 feet of each public entrance during normal business hours. The change took effect August 1, 2015.

Amending Chapter 10-700 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Refuse and Littering," to clarify the obligations of certain places of business that sell food to provide waste and recycling bins for use by their patrons, under certain terms and conditions.
