The enacted ordinance authorizes Philadelphia’s Managing Director or designee to enter into an agreement renewing Comcast’s cable television franchises in Franchise Areas I, II, III, and IV. The renewal would allow Comcast of Philadelphia, LLC and Comcast of Philadelphia II, LLC to operate cable systems in the City’s public rights-of-way under agreed terms, including possible requirements for an institutional network and an economic opportunity plan.

Authorizing the City's Managing Director or his designee to enter into a cable television franchise renewal agreement with Comcast of Philadelphia, LLC and Comcast of Philadelphia II, LLC, renewing the cable television franchises granted by the City to Comcast for Franchise Areas I, II, III and IV, under certain terms and conditions.
