The enacted measure extends Philadelphia’s real estate tax exemption program for longtime owner-occupants of residential properties. For the first 10 years, households may qualify with income up to 150% of the area median income; after that, the benefit may continue for households at or below 80% of area median income, subject to the program’s rules. It also extended the application deadline for certain applicants who would have qualified beginning in tax year 2014.
Amending Chapter 19-3900 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Tax Exemptions for Longtime Owner-Occupants of Residential Properties," by extending the time for which such exemptions are available, under certain terms and conditions.
