This enacted measure amends Philadelphia’s authorization for the School District of Philadelphia’s Realty Use and Occupancy Tax. It authorizes the School District’s Board of Education to impose the tax on people or businesses using or occupying real estate in the district for commercial or industrial activity, for general school purposes, including in tax years after July 1, 2016.

Amending Section 19-1806 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Authorization of Realty Use and Occupancy Tax," to further authorize the Board of Education of the School District of Philadelphia to impose a tax on the use or occupancy of real estate within the School District of Philadelphia, under certain terms and conditions.
