This enacted ordinance requires LED lighting for all lighting purposes in major renovations and new construction projects primarily funded with City capital dollars, including projects funded through the annual capital budget unless that budget says otherwise. Exceptions apply when LED lighting is not technically feasible, creates an undue cost burden, or an alternative is found to be more energy efficient; the requirement covers projects whose first design or construction bid solicitation was issued after the start of fiscal year 2017.

Amending Chapter 16-300 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Maintenance and Supervision," to require installation of LED lighting in connection with large City public works projects, all under certain terms and conditions.
