This enacted measure authorizes the City’s Law Department to standardize the formatting, numbering, lettering, and certain recurring words or symbols in The Philadelphia Code when incorporating or updating changes. It prohibits changes that could alter the Code’s meaning, requires the Law Department to periodically provide Council’s Chief Clerk with a list of standardized terms or symbols, and says the certified ordinance controls if it conflicts with the Code.

Amending Chapter 1-100 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Definitions, Construction, Penalties and Enforcement," to authorize the Law Department to standardize the appearance, numbering and formatting of The Philadelphia Code without the need for further Code amendment, all under certain terms and conditions.
