This lapsed bill would have changed the rules for City Council approval of redevelopment proposals and contracts under Pennsylvania’s Urban Redevelopment Law. It would have required Council approval for certain transfers to a new redeveloper, changes to the price of property originally sold for a nominal amount, major changes to project plans, changes in ownership or control before completion, and contract amendments involving those matters.
Amending Chapter 16-600 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Redevelopment Proposals and Contracts," by further providing with respect to requirements for Council's approval of redevelopment proposals and redevelopment contracts submitted to Council for approval under the provisions of the Urban Redevelopment Law, all under certain terms and conditions.
