The enacted law adds lead-paint safety requirements to special inspection certificates for educational buildings owned or operated by entities that receive substantial City funding. Student areas must be inspected and certified as safe from lead-paint hazards, with advance notice and public posting of inspection and remediation results; areas with unresolved hazards must be kept from student use until addressed.
Amending Subcode "A" (The Philadelphia Administrative Code) of Title 4 (The Philadelphia Building Construction and Occupancy Code) of The Philadelphia Code, by amending Section A-703, entitled "Special Certificate of Inspection," to provide for lead paint requirements for educational occupancies, under certain terms and conditions.
