City Council adopted a resolution proposing an amendment to the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter to create an Office of the Victim Advocate. The office would advocate for crime victims and co-victims, coordinate victim services, help ensure victims are informed of their rights, investigate complaints about government-funded services, and be led by a mayoral appointee approved by a majority of Council; the proposed amendment would be submitted to Philadelphia voters.
