This enacted ordinance amended Philadelphia’s business regulations to protect certain small restaurants operating in leased spaces that experienced major COVID-19 revenue losses. It created a 180-day eviction moratorium for qualifying restaurants, limited certain late-payment fees, required repayment agreements for past-due rent, and required landlords to give advance notice before eviction during the following year.

Amending Title 9 of The Philadelphia Code to address matters related to commercial leases and provide eviction and financial relief to restaurant businesses that operate on leased premises, all under certain terms and conditions.
