The enacted ordinance adds requirements for demolition permits involving structures that are currently or were formerly used as churches, synagogues, mosques, or other religious facilities and are at least 50 years old. Before issuing a permit, the Department must notify the district Councilmember and Registered Community Organization, receive confirmation that the organization held a meeting about the demolition within 30 days, and consider the organization’s position.

Amending Section A-303 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Demolition and Relocation of Structures," to add additional requirements for the issuance of demolition permits for structures currently or previously used as religious facilities; all under certain terms and conditions.
