This enacted measure authorizes Philadelphia officials to enter into an agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services to help the City maintain and provide continued access to emergency medical services. If federal approval is received, the agreement would allow City EMS to bill Medicaid managed-care organizations at specified rates for services provided to covered Medicaid patients, affecting City EMS and Philadelphia residents who rely on those services.

Authorizing the Fire Commissioner and the Revenue Commissioner, on behalf of the City, to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services to enable the City to maintain and provide access to emergency medical services, under certain terms and conditions.
