The enacted ordinance revises Philadelphia’s zoning rules for major utilities and water treatment facilities, allowing water treatment facilities in SP-CIV districts and permitting certain major utilities in specified industrial districts. It also allows fences up to 15 feet around water treatment facilities in SP-CIV districts and prohibits storing drinking-water treatment chemicals within 200 feet of a residential district.
Amending Chapter 14-400 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Base Zoning Districts," and Chapter 14-600 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Use Regulations," by revising provisions related to Utilities and Services and Water Treatment Facilities, all under certain terms and conditions.
