The enacted ordinance updates Philadelphia’s Plumbing Code, including rules for plumbing fixtures, water and sewer pipes, drainage, private water and sewer infrastructure, stormwater systems, and plumbing materials. It affects property owners, builders, and others who install, repair, or modify plumbing in Philadelphia, and took effect April 1, 2024.

Amending various provisions of Subcode "P" of Title 4 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "The Philadelphia Plumbing Code," by making additional additions, deletions and amendments to the City's adoption of the 2018 edition of the "International Plumbing Code," as published by the International Code Council, all under certain terms and conditions.
