The enacted ordinance changes Philadelphia’s steep-slope protection rules for development, earth-moving, and site-clearing work in designated steep-slope areas. It exempts qualifying stream restoration projects from those requirements if they have the required state or federal permit, are intended to restore natural watercourse processes or reduce erosion, and do not increase impervious coverage.

Amending Section 14-704 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Open Space and Natural Resources" by changing the applicability of steep slope protection requirements for certain stream restoration activities, all under certain terms and conditions.
