This enacted ordinance creates requirements for electric vehicle charging stations installed at commercial or residential parcels with 10 or more parking spaces that are built or significantly upgraded after October 1, 2024. It requires permits, safe installation and maintenance, repairs and vandalism mitigation, and electrical work by certified electricians; the Department of Licenses and Inspections may issue violations and daily fines when a station is non-operational for more than 30 days or otherwise violates the rules.

Amending Title 9 of the Philadelphia Code, entitled "Regulation of Businesses, Trades and Professions" by adding a new Chapter creating requirements related to the operation and maintenance of electric vehicle charging stations installed at certain commercial and residential parcels, all under certain terms and conditions.
