The enacted bill changes the deadline for property owners to apply for Philadelphia’s homestead property tax exclusion from September 13 to December 1 of the year before the tax is due. It also allows the Office of Property Assessment to grant deadline exceptions for hardship or other good cause through December 31 and changes the dates by which the office must notify applicants of a denial.

Amending Section 19-1301.2 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Homestead Exclusion," to revise the deadline by which applications for designation of property as homestead property are due, and making conforming changes, all under certain terms and conditions.
