The enacted ordinance amends Philadelphia’s zoning code to allow the Zoning Board of Adjustment to make approval of certain residential projects depend on a commitment to provide affordable housing. The commitment must cover at least 10% of the project’s homes for at least 50 years, at specified income levels, unless the applicant already has an agreement with the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency or the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide affordable housing.

Amending Section 14-303 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Common Procedures and Requirements," by authorizing the Zoning Board of Adjustment to condition zoning approval upon provision of affordable housing, under certain terms and conditions.
