This enacted ordinance permits licensed farmers’ markets on the south side of Walnut Street along Rittenhouse Square, despite the existing restrictions on sidewalk vending and sales there.
Amending Section 9-204 of the Philadelphia Code relating to Sidewalk Vendors in Center City and Section 9-205 of the Philadelphia Code relating to Sidewalk Sales to permit farmers' markets on the south side of Walnut Street on the sidewalk abutting Rittenhouse Square, and providing that provisions shall expire after a specified period of time, all under certain terms and conditions.

The enacted ordinance removes all designated locations where vendors may operate on both sides of Eighth Street between Market and Chestnut streets in Center City.
Amending the Ordinance approved January 3, 1992 (Bill No. 1205-AA), which, pursuant to subsection 9-204(8)(a) of The Philadelphia Code, designates the locations in Center City at which vending is permitted, by deleting all permitted vendor locations on both sides of Eighth Street between Market and Chestnut streets.

The enacted bill approves changes to the 45th & Sansom Urban Renewal Area, expanding its northern boundary from Chestnut Street to Market Street between 44th and Farragut Streets.
Approving the second amendment of the redevelopment proposal for the 45th & Sansom Urban Renewal Area, being the area generally bounded by Market street on the north, South Forty-fourth street on the east, Walnut street on the south and Farragut street on the west, including the second amendment to the urban renewal plan and the first amendment to the relocation plan, which provides, inter alia, for the expansion of the northern boundary of the urban renewal area from Chestnut street to Market street between Forty-fourth street and Farragut street, for the additional land acquisition of approximately fourteen (14) properties for commercial and related uses; the provision of certain relocation services, as required by law and declaring that condemnation is not imminent with respect to the Project.
