Authorizing City Council's Committee on the Disabled and the Handicapped to hold hearings to investigate and determine how many disabled and/ or handicapped veterans, especially Iraq and Afghanistan War veterans, are living in the Delaware Valley, and Philadelphia in particular; to identify and determine how best to assist these veterans in the receipt of needed medical and/or rehabilitative care; and to further determine ways that we can help the disabled war veteran get back into the mainstream of society; and determine whether or not these disabled veterans would seek to have the Delaware Valley certified by the United States Congress as a Regional Rehabilitation Hub with a rehabilitation medical facility in the Delaware Valley as a means to facilitate the rapid recovery of our service disabled veterans.

Authorizing City Council's Committee on Transportation and Public Utilities to hold public hearings to investigate and determine the progress of the Market Elevated Reconstruction Project and to further investigate and determine whether SEPTA cannot do more to alleviate the displacement and financial desolation suffered by many of the small business owners and residents who are directly impacted by this project and the Philadelphia Community at large; and to investigate and determine what SEPTA has done, as a neighbor for the neighborhoods adjacent to this project and to determine why SEPTA cannot be more responsive to the complaints of this Community and the larger Philadelphia Community during the course of this reconstruction project.
