Resolution 070212Authorizing City Council's Committee on Transportation and Public Utilities to determine the safety of our public school children who are transported to and from school in school buses not equipped with seat belt restraints; and to determine whether there are not immediate alternatives available for the protection of our children when riding school buses; and to determine the means, methods and criterion used by the Philadelphia School Reform Commission to ensure the safety of children transported to and from school under their supervision.

Resolution 070180Authorizing City Council's Committee on the Disabled and the Handicapped to hold hearings to investigate and determine how many disabled and/ or handicapped veterans, especially Iraq and Afghanistan War veterans, are living in the Delaware Valley, and Philadelphia in particular; to identify and determine how best to assist these veterans in the receipt of needed medical and/or rehabilitative care; and to further determine ways that we can help the disabled war veteran get back into the mainstream of society; and determine whether or not these disabled veterans would seek to have the Delaware Valley certified by the United States Congress as a Regional Rehabilitation Hub with a rehabilitation medical facility in the Delaware Valley as a means to facilitate the rapid recovery of our service disabled veterans.

Resolution 070105Authorizing City Council's Committee on Transportation and Public Utilities to hold public hearings to investigate and determine why SEPTA has not and is not working to make the subway exits most adjacent to City Hall and the Municipal Services Building handicapped accessible; and to determine what criteria has been utilized by SEPTA which has excluded subway accessibility to the disabled and/or handicapped, at these locations; and further determine why monies allocated by SEPTA in their capital budgets have not been utilized at these locations; further such hearings are to be held in conjunction with the hearings authorized in Resolution No.
