Amending Title 15 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Parks and Recreation," by adding a new Chapter relating to parks and playgrounds and by providing for the hours of operation of certain parks and playgrounds, all under certain terms and conditions.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Title 15 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
TITLE 15. PARKS AND RECREATION.

CHAPTER 15-600. PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS.
§ 15-601. Parks and Playgrounds- Hours of Operation.
(1) No person shall be in any park or playground owned or controlled by the City, other than those playgrounds regulated by subsection (2), except between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., unless the Recreation Department extends such hours in connection with any particular facility because of a City sponsored or approved event or activity.
(2) No person shall be in any playground designed as a tot playground for the use of children under six (6) years of age except between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. from October 1 through March 31 or between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. from April 1 through September 31.
(3) Exception: The provisions of this Section shall not apply to parks and playgrounds under the jurisdiction of the Fairmount Park Commission pursuant to Section 15-201.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
