This enacted ordinance adds alternatives to polystyrene foam—including expanded and extruded polystyrene—to the products Philadelphia’s Procurement Department should purchase when the price is reasonably competitive and the quality is adequate. It applies to City purchasing and took effect January 1, 2017.
Amending Chapter 17-600 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Procurement Price Preferences," by adding a preference for alternatives to expanded polystyrene, under certain terms and conditions.
