This enacted law changes Philadelphia’s rules for removing newsstands. Unless there is an immediate public health or safety danger, the City must give the licensee 10 days’ notice to correct a violation or appeal before removing a newsstand; after removal, the licensee may retrieve it within 30 days, and the party requiring a relocation from an approved location must pay the full relocation cost.
Amending Section 9-212 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Newsstands," by adding provisions related to removal and relocation, all under certain terms and conditions.
