This vetoed bill would have reduced Philadelphia’s real estate tax rate while authorizing the School District of Philadelphia’s Board of Education to increase its real estate tax rate.
Amending Chapter 19-1300 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Real Estate Taxes," and amending Chapter 19-1800 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "School Tax Authorization," by reducing the rate of tax on real estate within the City, and by authorizing the Board of Education of the School District of Philadelphia to impose an increase in the rate of tax on real estate within the City.

This vetoed bill would have authorized a $15 million transfer for Fiscal Year 2002 from the General Fund account for the City’s contribution to the School District to the Grants Revenue Fund account for other grants.
