The enacted ordinance adds certain misuse of Philadelphia’s 911 emergency response system to the conduct covered by the city’s hate-crimes rules when it is motivated by hatred based on characteristics such as race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or age over 65.
Amending Chapter 10-2200 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Hate Crimes," to provide for penalties for criminal conduct involving misuse of the 911 emergency response system motivated by hatred toward certain characteristics of other persons; all under certain terms and conditions.

The adopted resolution initiated steps to continue the Mayfair Business Improvement District in an area generally covering both sides of Frankford Avenue from Harbison Avenue to Sheffield Street, plus certain intersecting blocks.

This enacted measure restores a requirement that people appointed to Philadelphia’s civil service, including police officers, must have lived in Philadelphia for at least one year before appointment.
Amending Section 20-101 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Residence Requirements," by restoring the requirement that no person shall be appointed as an employee in the civil service, including but not limited to police officers, unless he or she has been a bona fide resident of the City for at least one year prior to appointment.
